When God's Whisper is louder than the enemy's voice.

After the earthquake came a fire, but the Lord was not in the fire. And after the fire came a gentle whisper. 1 Kings 19:12

Many times we expect God to be loud, boisterous, and heavy against the enemy. That is what we expect when we think of God and His almighty power. We especially expect it when everything else seems to be louder than God's voice when we are in tough situation. But have we ever thought to listen to the Lord's whisper, His whisper is louder than any voice of disappointment, voice of depression, and any mental or physical battle that any one of us are going through.

The story that is presented in 1 Kings chapter 19, shows us that we must listen to God's whisper. Elijah knew too well to listen to the whisper, instead of the earthquakes, the fires, the great wind. Elijah even though he was hiding from Ahab, he still knew how to drown out the loudness and pay attention to God's whisper. Sometimes when we see magnificent things happening we wait for that great expectation, but God sometimes is not in those big extravagant things. We must be able to tell the difference when the enemy's voice imitates and may try to act louder than God's almighty whisper.

Now we may think, a whisper is an insignificant thing, that a whisper is a way to spread secrets for no one to hear. But the difference between what we think is a whisper and God's whisper is that His whisper is powerful, His whisper shatters all barriers, His whisper is louder than anything. Don't let the thoughts of worry or anxiety be louder than that. It can be difficult at times, but just we remember with God all things are possible. And with Him we can all overcome what the enemy tries to tells us everyday.

I encourage you today to drown out the voices that seem louder than the power of God's whisper. That when we listen to that whisper that we know that God wants only good for us and not evil, that He knows the plans for us, He will not harm us, but love us with that gentle whisper.

Many Blessings,

Melissa Meran
